Can anyone read my Persuasive essay? CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK AND TELL ME WHAT ELSE I SHOULD ADD?

Before drinking a glass of alcohol have you ever told yourself that nothing can possibly go wrong with just one drink? Your answer is probably a yes. Alcohol is the number one drug of choice for teenagers. Most kids don’t realize how drinking of alcohol can affect them. 1 drink can lead to many others, and maybe even addiction. Alcohol has many affects to your life and body. For example, it can cause you to drink and drive, get diseases, and maybe even get in trouble with the law. The consequences may lead you to a disastrous future.
One of the consequences for drinking is drinking and driving, which can lead to a life threatening accident. Many teenagers and adults don’t keep track of how much alcohol they consume, or how long it will take to were off. Many people make regretful choices when they are drunk. Studies show that about one in five drivers under the age 21 reported driving under the influence of alcohol. Alcohol loosens your inhabitations; you will most likely start to see double, it causes a slur in your speech, and you lose your sense of distance. As a result, many people get in accidents because they cannot concentrate on the road and it gets hard for them to follow or even see the street lights. In addition, when you are driving drunk you are not only causing harm to yourself but others on the road as well.
Another consequence for drinking is the chance of getting a disease. Drinking alcohol is not only dangerous for the few hours that you are drunk but alcohol can do long term damage to your body. By drinking too much alcohol on a regular basis many people can get diseases that are easy to get but really hard to cure. For example, alcohol can have far-reaching effects on different parts of the brain, peripheral nerves, and muscles, with symptoms of memory loss, in coordination, seizures, weakness, and sensory deficits. Also, if an individual consumes too much alcohol, and the liver cannot break it down, that person will probably gets alcohol poisoning which many people die from. Becoming aware of the diseases that alcohol causes makes you think before you drink.
Drinking underage, and drinking and driving can get you in trouble with the law, and get you in trouble at home. In many cases most teenagers that get caught drinking and driving will most likely get a fine and maybe get their license taken away. You may also get an MIP (Minor in Possession) which is “Anyone who is under the age of 21 and drinks alcohol in America, with the exception of special circumstances, is violating the law of the state. If sufficient evidence is shown to a police officer that the minor has been drinking alcohol or is in possession of alcohol, an MIP may be issued to the minor”. Many people also have to; complete community service, and have to attend Alcohol Awareness Classes. Worst of all you may lose your parents trust, and that may cause some problems at home. Furthermore, your parents will probably stop trusting you, and they will probably not give you as much freedom as you had before. Also getting caught for drinking underage does not look good on an individual’s record and neither does drinking and driving.

Is ‘addiction’ the real disease and alcoholism a symptom?

i have been diagnosed ‘alcoholic’ but is ‘addiction’ the real disease? if i have the addictive gene why did i choose alcohol, why not sex, gambling, food, crime etc.,….if you are predisposed to alcoholism are you more likely to become alcoholic? i’m confused as to whether alcoholism is a disease or just a state of mind or do people have an addictive gene and discover their obsession through circumstance?

Re-Ask of Previous Question: Please Help?: How can one?

Stop a person smoking using operant conditioning?

An addiction, such as alcoholism, can be broken by using antabuse, which does nothing on it’s own, but when one drinks alcohol, they experience awful symptoms and get ill, they learn to associate illness with drinking, and they are thus repulsed by drinking. ;3

But, how does one use this technique and apply it to smoking??

my dad hasn’t ever bothered with me or my sisters, should i just give up on him and leave him to it?

my mum and dad split up 7 years ago because he was violent towards her, he had a serious alcohol addiction and still does and he had many affairs. My mum struggled allot because she has four children and my dad spent most of his money on booze and cigarettes which left my mum with barely any money to feed us or buy us basic urgent things.
He had 3 children with his previous marriage (they are in there 20′s now) and he doesn’t bother with them either and never did when they were younger, he goes to drop off the odd birthday card when he remembers to. my mum used to bring his son to see my dad when they were together but when they split up he stopped seeing him, a few months later my brother slit his wrists and nearly died, due to the fact he loved my dad and he didn’t bother with him any more.
my dad doesn’t give my mum maintenance so we had to sell th house and move to a village neer where my dad lives with his girlfriend who he had th affair with (she is still with her husband and he does not know they are having an affair and have been for the past 7 years).
He doesnt seem to bother with us now ( me and my 15 year old sister) although he comes to take my brother to his house because my dad uses him as a free worker because my dad is an engineer and a farmer and my brother knows how to farm and fix engines. i dont think my brother realises that he is being used but its not my place to say because if he wants to do it then no on is stopping him. when he comes to pick up my brother he doesnt even say hi to me or my sister and its really upsetting.
his dad was similar and had a gambling addiction and he was also addicted to hiring prositutes and bringing them home, in front of his 4 daughters and two sons. he was also sectioned many times and suffered with bipola so i dont know if its the fact that he hasnt learnt to be a good dad from his dad or just the fact that he doesnt love his children. however, my dads brother is a great father to his children.
i have always made an effort with my dad and when i see him i hug him but he doesnt hug me back.
should i shut him out of my life and accept rejection?

How do I stop the addiction?

I’m not going to explain my situation, it’s too long and it wouldn’t make a difference whether you knew or not. But I do really need some help. and No. a therapist is not an option. I’ve only gotten drunk once and almost got alcohol poisoning, i got to carried away, i was all laughs and such but thru it all inside i just wanted to get so far gone that i would do something stupid and not wake up. that was months ago maybe two or three. now every night I’ve been craving that feeling a release and and wasting all of my money on it. I am a great kid, try my best in school, have great friends the works. and no one knows this side of me except for a couple of people. so why is it that I am ruining myself even more and doing this to myself? it’s almost like, I’m addicted. I alredy know for a fact I’m addicted to vicodon. I take one or two just about every night. the hell I’ve been thru and am going thru would explain my reasoning for doing so but again, it’s too much to write and I don’t really feel like explaining my whole life on here. how do I get un-addicted to these things? I want to, and I want to get my life back on track and succeed..but whenever I try I always get dragged back down by my mother of father. it’s quite a long story. but I need some strength, some kind of inspiration to stop all bull s**** and get myself back together. any suggestion on how I would go about doing that? I don’t want to let alcohol and pills control my life and ruin everything I’ve ever had. what do I do to stop the cravings and addictions? and no I can’t talk to friends doctors or family about this.
