Question about alcohol addiction for you social drinkers…?

So I recently turned 21 and I want to have an alcoholic beverage for the first time. I want to be able to be a social drinker and maybe get buzzed at most, never drunk. Don’t wanna go there. I have a few friends that drink socially too and not that they make me do it, they respect any decision I make, but I’ve been curious for awhile, and I choose to drink socially, it’s my decision. From looking at a lot of yahoo answers about what drink to try, for my first drink, I decided I wanna start small and try a wine cooler or Smirnoff ice, since they have about 5% alcohol each. From what I’ve read, it doesn’t seem like 1 sip will make you drunk or tipsy, but for a beginner, would a standard 12 oz bottle get you tipsy even or would you need more than that to get tipsy even for a beginner? I know it depends on body weight too, I’m a 125 pound guy if that matters. for my first time, I don’t want to drink more than a 12 oz bottle and maybe move up from there eventually. For you social drinkers out there, how often do you drink a month? Do you really get withdrawal symptoms when you don’t drink that often or it doesn’t affect you too much if you drink a small quantity infrequently? I know people that drink a lot seem to be addicted, but what about people that drink a little infrequently? Also, say I try my first 12 oz Smirnoff ice or something, will I immediately get addicted from the first sip or the first bottle? Is there a chance that I might never be addicted if I just have a 12 oz bottle once in awhile? if you’re a social drinker and can speak from personal experience, I’d like to best hear your answer. And please don’t judge me based on my decision to drink or the type of drink, like I said, I wanna eventually get the buzzed feeling and never drunk. And sorry if it seems like a lot of questions. thanks

Can I treat Adrenal Fatigue but still be a caffeine addict?

After a few years of foolish habits (drug abuse, then alcohol addiction–now sober from booze 6 months; drugs stopped 2 years ago) it seems my ongoing health problem is related to Adrenal Fatigue. It is likely that all the drugs (it was REALLY bad for a while) exhausted my adrenal gland, and now I’m left with this god-awful condition.

I am faced with Chronic Fatigue symptoms, brain fog, mental confusion, slight weakness, lack of motivation, etc. Exercise helps but does NOT cure these problems.

Could it be Cirrhosis of the Liver?

Over the past 10-15 years my mom has gone from social drinker going out on Fridays to a sheltered and depressed woman who drinks alone daily- With nothing more on her mind than wanting to be dead. In the past 2-3 years Ive seen my mother go from bad to worse and everything in between. She just recently came down w/ a kidney infection that left her in bed for 2 weeks–And she denies it, but I know she was drinking even then. Not a day passes when she hasn’t vomited or almost dropped to her knees in pain. She also suffers from bulimia on top of her alcohol addiction. She’s constantly bleeding and claims it’s just hemorrhoids, but everybody assumes otherwise. She’s 54 years old and looks like a 65-70 year old woman. Although I **** to admit it- I can tell by looking at her that she’s slowly dying… She’s now past the point of being saved. Im just wondering if anybody knows of any really good websites I could go to to find out the signs and symptoms of Cirrhosis of the Liver–OR if anybody can share their experiences on the subject….ANY input is encouraged and greatly appreciated.
Im not looking to put her in rehab…She’s been countless times and insists on leaving before they even get a chance to talk about treatment. I know she needs help, but u cant give help to someone who doesnt want to take it. We’ve all tried and she refuses. Now we’ve run out of options… As I said she’s past the point of being saved. She has her mind set on one thing and that’s being done w/ her life and everything it consists of.

Overdose of librium and alcohol?

Ok, so Saturday night I hit rock bottom. I’ve struggled with addiction to any drug, mainly marijuana and cocaine, but above all, alcohol. I’ve laid off marijuana and cocaine, for they absolutely destroy your body and the beautiful mind you are given.

Anyhow, Saturday night I popped 6 librium (green and black ones, I think 10mg?). Anyways, shortly thereafter I started taking shots of vodka, probably 3-6 total. I then went to Ruby Tuesday’s with my GF, had two large beers there. My GF eventually left me and I continued drinking at the bar until the manager said I was a nuisance and cut me off. So, I then very stupidly found myself another bar and continued taking shot after shot and beer after beer until ONCE AGAIN the manager said, for my own safety, I’m cut off. Thank God. I then returned home, become hostile with my GF (I want to kill myself for what I do blacked out), and must have downed the rest of the librium. So, more than likely I took 12-17 Librium along with a BAC (of which I later learned) of .243. My GF called the police (thank God for her safety) and I fought with paramedics and officers until they got me tied down. Anyways, the next morning I woke up with a catheter and IV, but my right arm has been numb ever since (Sunday morning). I’m starting to get feelings back in my pinky, middle, and ring finger, but mostly my thumb is still numb (like asleep) and my arm feels heavy. Also it feels like I have awkward movements with it, like I can’t precisely control it. I’m a bit scared…. I noticed they had tried sticking me with something in my right arm but didn’t have anything there when I woke up.

Is anime addiction kind of.a cause some amount of social dysfunction?

Plz ppl, don’t take this as an insult, I’m merely just curious to know. The reason why I’m asking this is b/c a guy friend whom I used to be friends with and used to have a crush on til he broke my heart and the thing is that he relies on anime as his mental reliever, (well mostly alcohol and smoking hooka for the most part) but anyway, he spends most of his time playing video games and watching anime/reading manga. Even when I’m chatting with him, he kinda has a lack of interest in speaking to me, he doesnt seem to care about the person I am, he’d rather talk about anime or video games and sometimes anything related to his life. He’s 21 and is in a community college, and see he doesnt know what to do with his life, most like a marine bio since he loves sharks, but he’s so suicidal cuz of how disfunctional his life is. He’s had a bad exerience growing up – gotten beaten up, gotten heart broken, he sometimes has anger problems- he’s been abusive to me like 3-5 times I believe. Everytime he feels bad, he’ll curse about life and the world when I’m there or whomever he cud get to speak to or drink/smoke more, or play violent video games and watch more and more anime.

My question is: does anime somehow make you more confused about life? Does it kinda keep you from wanting to grow up? How does anime have an influence on one’s personality and how they live their life? Does anime sometimes cloud someone’s mind from seeking and desiring fantasy and hating and not wanting to live in reality?
