Can we cure the economy with this idea?

(US economy in particular)

Why not make more drugs legal? All of them?
Government alright makes a fair amount from tobacco taxation. I am aware that tobacco arguably causes a greater monetary loss in smokers’ medical expenses, but I believe other drugs have the potential to seriously help the economy (if the tax income is used correctly by the government). Bottom of the line is, I feel like this would pour money into the economy and stimulate wonderfully.
I know many people are against drugs and that’s fine – don’t use them. But if you don’t like people who do drugs then let the legalization weed out people who abuse these drugs to death. I know this sounds harsh and maybe unacceptable to a mainstream audience, but it would be the most direct way to eradicate society of destructive behavior – destruction in any form is generally a bad thing, taking away from productivity. Of course, I would still highly promote the idea of restricting these drugs, some more restricted that others. Heroin and Crystal Meth, I propose to keep highly restricted (such as for medical use only. People who are terminal or in great pain). Basically any high potential addiction/destruction drug because I believe these aren’t entirely fair; with such drugs it would be hard for most people to not develop an unhealthy addiction. But with marijuana, alcohol, mushrooms, ecstasy, even cocaine, most people have the self-control to not use destructively. We need to spend a little money on cleaning up the homeless. Put them all in some sort of housing. Educate them, let them evolve (of course I speaking of homeless people who are homeless because they don’t have the intellectual means. In a word, “breed” our society to our liking: a higher, more productive overall attitude and lifestyle. Everyone should have something to offer to society, in whatever way they do best.

This is more of a long term goal. However, the decriminalization of drugs would have a much more acute economic effect. Money = Stimulation. Most of us dislike the effects of money in bad times, so PLEASE government, be good boys and use the product wisely. Help us pay for our homes or create clever, useful jobs. Do something in the best interest of everyone! The States are way to huge to have a federal government or state government, making huge restrictive decisions for the entire population (drugs!). No more group exclusive benefit! We need rights for the individual WITHIN a group, society at large, to be the focus, not have the individuals in one activist group be benefiting over others.

I am not an economists and I know I don’t use very fancy “economics terminology” but I feel really confident about my reparation idea. I promise, this being done would benefit the public at large. In it’s entirety. I am also not a politician, but I would freely give my philosophy to any politician who would strive to enforce it.

It would not solve the tax problem but would solve the jail problem, They would just spend the extra money on somthing else, and no smokers do not cause extra they die off faster. and you are on the slippery slope of what you consider dangerous so are still in the same camp as the feds are, but you are on the right track of let people decide for themselves.

Sorry but obviously you know nothing at all about additction, and this proposterious idea you have is just that.
Marijuana, alcohol, mushrooms, ectasy and cocaine, most people seem to use without using destructively?
You have got to be kidding me? Have you ever done a statisic study on addicition, percentils etc……versus the casual unaddicted person with self control?
Personally I know alot more people completely out of control when the use any form of substance,be that alchohol, cocaine, ectasy or meth, with very little or no control to walk away.
Homeless people are usually homeless due to their alcoholism and drug problems by the way,not because they are necessarily uneducated,or have no intellectual means.
    Breed society to our liking?
Ok,so we have a bunch of people buying all the drugs we made legal, and paying a hefty tax for doing so pulling our nation out of the economic crisis were in.hmmm…….if they dont develop a habit or a problem how is this really going to benefit,I mean any one with control would not be buying anything on a regular basis, correct?
I am not an economist either, however I don’t feel you have any more knowledge of what your speaking of then I do,and if by chance you know of any politician that would like to listen to my philosohical tales of whoa please tell him I would like a zanax, and a cocktail before I speak with him.
