Every addict is a unique individual with unique individual needs. By the same token, every successful addiction treatment program must be specially tailored to a patient’s personal case history. Unfortunately, some of the most high-priced private addiction treatment centers in Los Angeles fail to put this principle into practice, choosing instead to offer generic treatment programs to their clients. For your own sake, don’t make the mistake of trusting your health to one of these institutions.

Addiction recovery is an extraordinarily delicate process. It can only succeed if it’s managed the right way, by people who understand exactly what they’re doing. To settle for the services of an inferior rehab center is to doom oneself to failure. If you’re serious about getting sober, it’s vital that you find an effective addiction treatment center that can care for you as you deserve to be cared for.Cliffside Malibu has a worldwide reputation for excellence in the field of addiction treatment and recovery. Much of that esteem, in turn, can be attributed to Cliffside’s unfailing emphasis on personalized rehabilitation programs. It’s one reason why it’s the most exclusive addiction cure center Malibu has to offer. Cliffside’s clinical experts understand that each of their clients must ultimately pursue his or her own path to recovery. Here’s hoping you’ll be wise enough to let them you show you the way forward.

Article by stopdrinkingnowreviews

On a sober day many alcoholics believe that they would be able to give up alcohol without alcohol addiction help, unfortunately when it comes to actually quitting many never succeed. The idea of drinking only during social occasions is a very appealing one however rarely will an alcoholic be able to only drink during social situations. For most alcoholics alcohol is still in control of their thought process and any idea of actually quitting rarely comes to fruition.

Deciding to drink socially might work if the individual has a support network through a rehabilitation service or other alcohol addiction help centers. Unfortunately the reality is that Alcoholism is an addictive disease however it is a disease that can be cured through self determination and will power.

Most alcoholics will agree that the idea of only having the odd drink is nearly impossible.

For a recovering alcoholic the idea of even having an odd drink is enough to make them break out into a sweat. People who have been dry for years can easily fall off the wagon after taking a simple drink; and getting back on to the wagon is more difficult the second time around.

A female friend of mine, who is an alcoholic, managed to get alcohol addiction help once she found out she was pregnant. Everyone was impressed with her will power and she had a beautiful and healthy son. Unfortunately her husband brought out a bottle of champagne to celebrate the special occasion and the one glass was enough to take her back to dependency on alcohol.

While there are thousands of stories out there they all have the same beginning and the same sad ending. Deciding to quit drinking is a difficult decision to make and the decision to stay sober is an ongoing one that requires loads of will power and support.

The stop drinking advice blog is a great place to find others who have gone though what you are and can give advice as well as alcohol addiction help to get you through this difficult time in your life.

Question by Zetsu: Teens: Which addiction would be hardest to get over?
Drug addiction, alcohol addiction, or sex addiction( NOT PORN, JUST SEX ITSELF)?

In my opinion, id say the sex addiction would be the hardest to cure. This would be because, we have a biological drive for sex, and you cannot really tell someone never to have sex again in your life, you have to find a way to limit it.

What you guys think?

Best answer:

Answer by bbycakes
Drug addiction. I watched my dad go through it, he literally couldn’t keep himself from it. It was all he thought about was drugs and eventually it killed him.

Article by Suzie Ronda

Alcohol addiction has been responsible for many lives and also for causing the destruction of many relationships. The basic problem that comes in between the treatments is the addict’s refusal to go in for any special procedure. Most alcohol addicts develop withdrawal symptoms and thus they do not like any form of interference in their lives. Thus, it becomes an entire family responsibility to convince the addict that he needs to go in for help as the alcohol addiction is playing with his life. Intervention forms the very first milestone on the roads to recovery.

Each place has many rehab centers which can direct the recovery in a smooth fashion. But one needs to consider certain points before settling for any one center. Firstly not all centers are affordable, so one must look for a center which fall in their budget and at the same time is good. Rehab centers should have a good credibility and should not be using measures which can cause relapse. The staff should be motivational and should help the addict at every step. While many severe addict need to have specialized care at residential rehab centers, some can even start their recovery process from home with help from a specialist.

The rehab center should also track their treatment with follow-on procedure which can incorporate counseling. Counseling can even be done on phone. Most good centers would first try and understand the cause which made the person in question shift towards being an alcoholic, as first step in their treatment. This step ensures that the problem is solved from its root and this decreases its chances of relapsing back. The authenticity of the rehab center also needs to be established to ensure that all the doctors and staff are certified and you are not handling care of the addict in inexperienced hands. Alcohol addiction can be cured effectively with the help from a good rehab centers, like Vermont drug rehab centers.

Alcohol addiction is slowly taking over the young today and with so many of them using it as an excuse to consume more and more alcohol, the situation is worsening day by day. Many people start consuming alcohol as a remedy to forget pain and also to shift away from broken relationships. But binge drinking can change to alcoholism within no time and this can cause serious problems in lives. Alcohol forces a person to withdraw from all the daily activities and just refuses to socialize. Such a person looks for excuses to avoid meeting friends. Alcohol addiction as such has been therefore categorized as a brain disease by many specialists.

Alcohol can also cause serious physical ailments affecting many important organs. Overdose of alcohol is also responsible for many horrendous crimes. Drunken driving has known to claim many innocent lives each year. Pregnant ladies suffering from alcohol addiction cam cause many complications for the unborn child. With so many ill-effects it is better to find the right cure for alcohol addiction. There are many rehab centers and also detox centers which can help the person give away this destructive habit. Detox centers work to clean the body from alcohol, thus helping with a recovery.

Many governments have some state-owned rehab centers which can help addicts with proper treatments. Along with a good treatment the thing that will most help the addict would be the motivational help. Twelve step programs is also very effective manner in which the addict can be helped as it works on basic principles of acceptance and recovery. Intervention can also help in getting the alcohol addicts agree for the recovery process.

Although alcohol is legal and mainly used for recreation, it can be dangerous if consumed in large amounts. Many people get addicted to alcohol every year, but since everyone knows about its after effects, people get out the addiction when they realize their fault. However, some people get so much into it that they cannot leave the addiction even after trying hard. For such people, the only way to get back to the normal life is to get admitted in an alcohol rehabilitation center and get proper treatment. The main problem with alcohol is that it is a legal drug and hence it is found everywhere. People who are addicted alcohol do not have to face any type of problems while getting their daily dosage. Addiction to alcohol comes due to several reasons; sometimes it comes due to depression, sometimes due to some sort of physical ailment etc. People start taking alcohol in large amounts when they see that they cannot feel any pain or stay out of mental depression when they take alcohol.

If an alcohol addicted person realizes that he is getting deep into the addiction, he should take necessary steps immediately. Stopping alcohol consumption suddenly can lead to several fatal side-effects; so addicted people should consult a doctor or get admitted in an alcohol rehab center to leave the addiction. The rehab centers attempt several treatment procedures and help the alcohol addicted people get rid of their addiction slowly. The withdrawal effects of alcohol addiction are so fatal that they can cause heart attack anytime. This often happens when people stops taking alcohol all of a sudden. When their mind and body craves for the dosage and do not get it, the addicted people become restless and several other effects show up. Some people try to continue their alcohol addiction treatment at home, but they fail in most cases. When they cannot bear the pain of the withdrawal effects, they again start taking alcohol. To prevent such situations, the alcohol addicts must take treatment from any well known residential alcohol rehab.

Taking treatment from any alcohol rehab is the best and only option that the alcohol addicts have got to stay away from the alcohol addiction completely. Besides the excellent treatment procedures followed in the alcohol addiction treatment centers, the medical staffs provide excellent services also. The care and support that they provide, helps the patients a lot to fight against the pain of the withdrawal effects both physically and mentally. Many rehab centers cannot provide this facility, because of which they fail to cure the alcohol addicted patients completely; sometimes this same case occurs when a person tries to take treatment at home. The medical staffs of some alcohol rehab centers are highly experienced and they know the exact way of interacting with the addicted patients. Their care and support along with the excellent treatment of the rehab centers helps the alcohol addicts to leave the alcohol addiction and get back to normalcy.

Question by sara: Struggling With Alcohol Addiction Six Months Pregnant, Please Help?
Please no rude comments. This issue is already really hard on me. After giving birth to my first daughter i got severe post partum depression, and i started drinking heavily. six months after having her i got pregnant again by accident. so now I’m 6 months pregnant. and I’ll admit I know I have a bad drinking problem. I really want to get it under control, to give this baby the best chance to be healthy, and to be a good mother to my children. I know I’m a good mother, just struggling bad with this addiction. I just want to get help, but I have know idea what will really help to cure this addiction. I’ve tried counseling and it doesn’t seem to help. I think that god gave me this baby to help me straighten my life out. It could have even saved my life maybe. my marriage was starting to fall apart with my heavy drinking before I got pregnant with this baby. and ever since being pregnant I have been doing my best to cut down on the alcohol. I went from extremely heavy drinking before I found out I was pregnant, to only having a couple small drinks once a week. like two glasses of wine a week. I have had maybe one or two episodes of binge drinking. but I’m doing good lately. not drinking barely at all. I’ve had an ultra sound recently, and every thing was normal and doing good with baby. My baby is developing well, and my doctor said he didn’t see any signs of fas so far. which is good. I’m happy about that. so there’s a good chance I could have a healthy baby boy. I love my baby, I really do and I don’t want to hurt it. I really want help. I’m scared. every day is a struggle and a battle between me and the alcohol. I have to fight to not touch it. which i’ve been doing good, but i’m so scared that after this baby is born, i may relapse back to my old heavy drinking habits if I don’t seek some major help now. but I don’t know how to get help, or what will really help. It feels impossible for me to break free of this addiction. any one ever deal with anything like this, or know any one who did, any advice or help would be great. and please don’t judge unless you’ve been in my shoes. thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Kenneth Alexander born 6/5/10 <3
I’m sorry that you’re going through this situation. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to stop drinking but the best thing you can do is to seek psychological help. Because really this whole thing is because something is telling you that you need to drink. My mom was an alcoholic for years and she drank through her pregnancies and thankfully all of us turned out okay but it could’ve been a horrible outcome. She was very lucky! Anyways, she stopped drinking because she overdosed on anti depressants while drunk. And if you had PPD and you have a drinking problem, you need to seek help from a counselor or psychiatrist. It’s very important that you do because you have a baby and you have another one on the way, the last thing you want is to have them involved in your drinking life. Trust me, I had to deal with my moms alcoholism and it was by far the worst childhood, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy!

In the past, people who were struggling with alcohol addiction had only one means of help offered to them — quitting cold turkey. It’s little wonder that the success rate for treating alcoholism was so low until recently. Modern science has taught us that alcoholism is more than just a mental weakness on the part of the patient — it’s a chronic disease which causes severe changes to a person’s brain along with the rest of their body.

Recent developments have also changed how alcoholism is treated in alcohol and drug rehab clinics across the country. Along with a more holistic approach — including treatment of mental disorders and other underlying causes that caused people to drink in the first place — modern treatments for alcoholism can also include the use of select prescription drugs. While one pill can’t “cure” an alcoholic, several drugs have shown positive results in helping people who are committed to treatment change their lives.

Here is a look at three of the most common drugs used during the treatment process at alcohol rehabilitation clinics in the United States:

Naltrexone: This is the most common prescription drug treatment for alcoholism in the United States. It is effective because it blocks the opioid receptors that cause alcoholics to receive pleasure from drinking. Over time, naltrexone trains the brains of recovering alcoholics to no longer crave alcohol because they are not getting the needed positive sensations after drinking. It is very effective as a drug that provides a gateway to sobriety after patients finish treatment at alcohol rehab centers by reducing the likelihood of a heavy relapse.

Acamprosate: Frequently prescribed during alcohol rehab for people who are attempting to quit after having developed severe alcohol problems, acamprosate helps to heal damage caused by years of excessive drinking. Long-term alcoholism can do significant damage to the brain, causing severe withdrawal symptoms like insomnia, anxiety and paranoia that can linger for years. Acamprosate helps to reduce these feelings by essentially “patching” the problem areas inside a person’s brain and attempting to rewire it to work properly again.

Disulfiram: Unlike the other two drugs mentioned above that are frequently used in an alcohol addiction center, disulfiram uses negative reinforcement to attempt to dissuade alcoholics from drinking. After a person takes disulfiram, even the slightest amount of alcohol will make them extremely nauseous. This is a highly effective treatment for people who are committed to their sobriety.

Article by Javies Phaltual

Mankind on earth has been bestowed with bountiful blessings and authority above all creations from nature. What more do we want? Why have greed blinded us that we forgot who we actually are, how fortunate we are and above all, our purpose on earth? Why do we have to shorten our lives as if we were a worm or a lifeless creature?Man has spoiled not only his natural surroundings but even himself due to his madness especially in the form of greed of technology, power, money and most importantly drugs and alcohol. The time is ripe and it is time we wake up from our slumber and start improving the world. Leaving behind our previous lives, let us embrace new lives that are what exactly the world and its future requires. Those of us who have been living in the mischievous spell of the deadly alcoholism, let us step forward and pay heed of what is alcohol addiction and its cure, what affects does it have on us and our love ones and the world. While the rest who are hypnotized by other nature effecting madness, it’s a high time we step out from the trance that have blinded us quite for a long time.

Alcohol in the beginning is drunk by us, but in the long run it is the alcohol that drinks us. Think of your precious life and how worthy it is; aren’t you in love with it? What will happen to your love ones? Is this just how you want to end your life? You may have been a starter or might have already been on the brim of it’s container that is about to overflow with its deadly venom, yet do not be disheartened. You still have a cure.

Let us speak in few lines about the causes and effects of alcohol addiction and its cure and hope for a brighter future.

Simply speaking, alcohol addiction can be explained as the compulsory need of intoxicating drinks of fermented fruits or grains. Drinks such as liquor, beer and wine come under this category.

A person can be said alcoholic when he or she longs for more alcohol in spite of his drunken state or deteriorating condition. In some severe cases, one tends to shake and shiver when his body is in need of that drink.

Some may be tempted to try a drink or two by some friends which later on drags to addiction or some may be fooled by fools who claim that stress, worries or pains are erased by drinking. But it is better to ‘look before you leap’ and not be too short-sighted. Yes, you may forget about all your worries and fears as long as the effect lingers but that won’t help you for long.

Alcohol has been found to be the root cause in most crimes, deaths, accidents and suicides. It is also associated with many health problems which ever you can mention. Too much of it can destroy the brain cells. It also effects and destroys the nervous system and also inflames the mouth and stomach thus making it exposed to cancer threats. It also affects the blood pressure and heart beat too. Loss of vision has also been reported in some cases. Skin problems, pancreatic disorders and weakening of the bone have also been found. Overall, it can harm your whole immune system thus making you vulnerable to harmful diseases. Most importantly it can also spoil one’s relationships with his or her spouse and family.

Alcoholism is a treatable disease if you have a serious desire not to be an alcoholic and be the laugh of the town. If you have the will, why not give it a try? There is always a way. All you need is to be strong and bold and be a man.

Today, there are many treatment programs and approaches to cure alcoholism but you need to have that sincere desire. You can choose from wide varieties of medical treatments available which can be better explained by a qualified doctor. People have also benefited much from religious rehabilitation programs based upon faith.

So why not make a difference by yourself before the liquor makes a difference on you and your family and the world? You are not always alone out there. There is still a hope if you keep your faith alive. Let’s make the world like it was to be.

6 weeks ago, I went to my PD with what I thought was severe heartburn. I went to pharm. and he suggested Pepcid. I took it, no luck in an hour (like he said). I called and asked PD how long Pepcid takes to take it away, she said an hour, I said it’s been 4 hours and I was in agony. Severe abdominal pain, some vomiting, low grade fever. I had what I thought was the flu for 3 days prior (no pain, just didn’t feel well, diarr and low grade fever. She said come in. She took a blood test … Highly elevated Amylase and Lipase, somewhat elevated ALT, AST. Had weekly blood tests since then, and it’s been going down. Nearly normal Amylase, still 3 times normal Lipase (which is much lower than it was… nearly 3000).

I read the following on internet as far as causes: 1) Alcoholism: “Alcohol is the leading culprit. Usually, it takes several years of heavy drinking — such as a 12-pack of beer of every day.” I drink, but not more than 3-4 drinks per night, 3-4 nights per week (if that!) however, I had a life altering even a few weeks before attack and did drink a bit more (nightly, maybe 4 drinks), but no ‘binge drinking’. Rarely drunk more than 4 times in the last year, no hangovers. 2) Gallstones: never had a symptom. 3) heridedary: nope, nobody. 4) Meds: rare cases of Lamictal and Ativan have been reported “after market, and reported on ‘compassionate please’ cases. I am on both. (BTW, Lamictal was raised from 150 mg to 200 mg 1 wk before attack, and due to stress, went from 1 ativan per day to 2-3). 5) no traumas.

The pain was severe (I have little tolerance for pain), but not enough that I felt ER was necessary. Nor did she. I was still walking around and doing what shopping I had to do, etc. OTC painkillers helped.

Background: 48 yrs old, F, somewhat healthy diet. I feel fine now. Having another blood test Monday. Also have history of ovarian problems…. recently, cysts, fibroids. Any known relation? Any herbal/alternative cures or remedies? Is this permanent? She says never another drink of alcohol, not even cough syrup. Is that true? Even socially, a couple here and there? Due to my two year history of drugs (antidepressants, Lamictal, Xanax, Ativan … all prescribed by Dr’s), I have also taken Milk Thistle and Alpha Lipoic Acid to counteract the med’s effect on liver.

Just can’t find enough general information on this on the internet. Just doom, gloom, not so great mortality rates, and a future of horror to live with … kidney dialysis, heart failure, liver failure, extreme pain, narcotic addiction, surgeries.

Please advise… Thank you and God bless.

I have recently quit smoking. I am 27 years old, and have been smoking full-time for nearly 15 years.
I found it really easy to quit using Allen Carr’s method… but one area I am having trouble with is the correlation between alcohol and nicotine.
I do believe that yes, the majority of the addiction is in the mind, and I have control of that aspect… but whenever I’m at a social function, and have a couple drinks and feel that first warm glow of the alcohol buzz, I get an intense physical craving for a cigarette… please keep in mind that I said “physical” I can feel my veins just screaming for some nicotine.
I do not feel that my inhibitions are lowered in regards to giving in for a smoke, I honestly physically feel an intense craving.
I was wondering if anyone has any tips on coping, or better yet, curing this feeling while drinking.
Please, no suggestions to abstain from alcohol use…
(the way I see it, if non-smokers can enjoy drinking, then there must be a way that ex-smokers can too)

Thanks!

I read this article and it helped me learn what are the ways that fasting can improve someones health. Also on tv the sheik advises anyone with any health problem like high blood pressure ,diabetes, cholestrol to fast even during the fitr days .

 1. Attitude About Juice Fasting: One key to juice fasting over water fasting is the ability to prevent ketosis (disrupted carbohydrate metabolism in response to chronic starvation) by continuously providing simple carbohydrates that are used by your body for energy and nutrition to the cells. Some individuals, however, believe that carb overload is the reason why Americans are fat.
2. Attitude about Skipping Meals: One study suggests that skipping a meal occasionally is not all that bad, especially if weight loss is a goal. However, be aware of changes in metabolic rate (see below).
3. Autonomic Nervous System: According to this article, fasting appears to have a normalizing effect on the overall tone of the autonomic nervous system. This normalization decreases possibilities for a number of issues ranging from digestive disturbances to anxiety disorders.
4. Awareness: Fasting can heighten awareness, depending upon the health of the individual, the goal for fasting and the ability to eliminate toxins from the system.
5. Back Pain: Back pains caused by muscular tightness and stress rather than from bone disease or osteoporosis may be alleviated with a lighter diet or juice fasting.
6. Bad Health Habits: In some people, fasting has helped break cravings for alcohol, tobacco, caffeine and some drug addictions.
7. Blood Pressure: Water fasting may correct your high blood pressure to a safe range within two weeks without drugs. This level of pressure can be maintained if the diet is changed rather than going back to old eating habits. This study was conducted in a controlled setting.
8. Cell Proliferation: This study, done on mice, showed that intermittent fasting slowed cell production, which also showed cancer development. Slowing down the rate of cell proliferation essentially buys time for the cells to repair genetic damage that may cause cancer.
9. Cholesterol: One study about a 30-day Muslim fast showed significant decrease in LDL (”bad” cholesterol), total serum cholesterol and serum triglycerides at the end of the fasting period. There also was a significant increase in “good” cholesterol (HDL) that showed at the end of the fast and continued to show for one month after the fast.
10. Chronic cardiovascular disease and congestive heart failure: Fasting can reduce triglycerides, atheromas, total cholesterol and may increase HDL levels.
11. Energy Flow: Through this logic, fasting enables the body to slow down to the point where the individual can listen to the body through the mind. This ‘vital force’ is clouded when the body is filled with toxins. However, one study with flies showed that the value of diminished appetite to an animal’s survival may vary with the infecting microbe.
12. Fat Mobilization [PDF]: Fasting may move the body to mobilize fat stores from adipose tissue (the fat under your skin) to consume that fat as energy. Short fasts also may protect proteins in your body with the release of a growth hormone.
13. Heart Health: The day-long, once-a-month fast many Mormons undertake as a part of their faith may help explain the lower rates of coronary artery disease in this population, according to a study presented at the American Heart Assn.’s scientific sessions in Orlando, Florida, in 2007.
14. Homeostasis: Basically, your metabolic equilibrium, or ability to heal, could undergo a change during fasting. When fasting is employed as a therapeutic measure, it changes the playing field for disease and infection. This article quotes Louis Pasteur, “The pathogen is nothing, the terrain is everything” for an argument on why fasting can be used as a cure for injury or disease.
15. Insulin and Blood Sugars: A study from the National Institute on Aging found that skipping meals frequently can help mice maintain healthier glucose and insulin levels. The study provides insight into the possible effect of fasting on glucose metabolism.
16. Life Span: The point behind this list of articles and studies is that caloric reduction, overall, is one way to increase a life span. Lower metabolic rates, slower cell proliferation and less body fat that holds toxic matter all lead to a healthier life. This translates, for many people, into a longer life.
17. Lifestyle: If you want to change your life to feel healthier and more productive, this author believes that fasting provides the pivot for that change.
18. Mental Alertness: When toxins are removed from the lymphatic and blood systems, this change improves mental clarity. Eating less also results in energy conservation, which can be used by the brain for thinking tasks.
19. Metabolism: While many people believe that a fast metabolism is key to weight loss,

I really do. But it is my addiction. I need it like druggies need Cocaine, or alcoholics need…alcohol. I have been suicidal and depressed for a long time. And I want to be free of it. I’m afraid if anyone finds out about my cutting, I will be in serious trouble, because my parents have no sympathy….for me.
I also drink sometimes. I’ll take a small glass of wine, or steal some beer, but only when I’m cutting, before I do, or after.
I’d explain why I was depressed, but I don’t want to bore you. So, anyways…I cut and I want tips on how to stop. Even though, I may not take them…I cure could use them .But as I said it’s my addiction, self injury. Ive also attempted suicide a few times before. And the poem that ran through my head every time I failed was “Next time, pull the trigger a little faster, tie the rope a little tighter, cut a little deeper. No one here will miss you, so no worries”. I do see a therapist and I don’t think it’s helping me, I’ve actually been more depressed since I started going to them. Maybe I just need to give it more time?
I have tried to drown myself and I have tried to hang myself. Just help me please?
And if you want to leave comments that are criticizing me, go ahead. I have two things to say to you that do:
1: It only drives me farther into depression and over the edge
2: I’ve heard it all before.
None of it would be new so you’d be wasting your time. Please, just help me. I’m probably not going to take the advice, but at least I’ll have it for when I want it. Thank you, it really means a lot.

A very wise women once told me that, “Addictions are like a nest of mice. If you see one, there are more hidden away.”

What do you think about that? Do you think a super-anti-addiction drug or program could cure them all?

this question is for athiest
and or people who are not spiritual
or believe any spirituality at all (not saying all athiests are like that, because i know someone is gonna protest me saying that )

but for people who trully believe
this is it in life

i have to ask
when you were at your lowest of low
be it
depression
alcohol
or drug addiction
and had trully no one you could find to reach out a kind hand or kind word to help you thru your difficult time

what did you do to help yourself get thru it
now while many would just say
o my friends and family

now please just imagine if you didnt have any friends and your family hated you
or
imagine what it would be like to be an addict who’s family has given up on you

what would you want to cling to in a sense for a little bit of hope
that you will be able to make it thru this

RELIGIOUS OR NOT
i am not asking this to imply that jesus or any other religion is going to cure everything

but just interested as
alot of former addicts and people who have hit the lowest point in their life
say they had religion or something of that nature help them thru that difficult time
and help turn their life around

im just interested to see
for people who dont believe in any spirituality, or religion or any concept of god
and have trully hit rock bottom
and have no friends or family to turn to

what would you do to help you thru this situation
Ok again for people who are defending the fact saying
“i have great friends and family ”
please read the damn question again
and THINK ABOUT IT

it is not a bashing on you or your friends or your family
and NO i am not sayin just because you are athiest means you dont have friends
READ THE QUESTIONS
its part hypothetical
because
obviously most of the answers on here
are some of the dumbest ones ive ever heard from people who call themselves athiest

This was for people who have hit rock bottom and or been an addict

spongesquare
and gentelman jack

you two were the ONLY ones on here who seemed to understand the concept of the question
and for that i thank you

the rest of you who keep defending the fact that you have “GREAT FRIENDS AND FAMILY ”

defend it till its blue in the face
i really dont care
you are missing the point of the question all together

Addiction to alcohol has been killing several hundreds of people every year for quite a long time. It can be placed just after drug addiction in the human killing race. But, alcohol is much older than drug addiction in this business. It has been killing human beings for long-long time and it is still continuing with its business. However, nowadays, people have known a lot about the ill-effects of alcohol addiction and they try their best to stay out of addiction to alcohol. Still, alcohol addiction comes when some people take large amounts of alcohol regularly due to some complicated reasons. Nowadays, alcohol is regarded mostly as a beverage or a social drink. People take alcohol just as any other drinks in parties, at their homes anytime. Consumption of alcohol in limited quantities does not create any problem, but the problems arise when people start taking alcohol in large amounts as medicine to some mental or physical ailments. Once a person gets addicted to alcohol, it becomes very hard for them to get out of it. The only thing that can help them to leave the addiction is proper alcohol treatment

.

The strength of alcohol addiction is however, not as dangerous as it was before. People have seen and known a lot about the ill-effects of alcohol addiction, as a result of which they know how to stay out of this addiction. Still some people fall in the grab of this addiction due to some reasons and get badly hit. These people get addicted to alcohol due to various personal problems; when they find that alcohol can help them suppress certain physical and mental ailments, they start taking it regularly in huge amounts. Gradually this leads to intense problems and the treatment for which is available only in an alcohol treatment center. The alcohol addiction treatments centers attempt several treatment procedures to cure the patients completely. Treatment of alcohol addiction is much easier than drug addiction, but the withdrawal effects are much more fatal. Several such incidences have been noticed where the alcohol addicts suffered from heart attack due to the withdrawal effects.

Proper alcohol treatment program must be followed in the alcohol rehab centers in order to cure the patients completely from alcohol addiction. After the medicinal treatments complete, the withdrawal effects show up in large extent and during this time the alcohol addicted patients must be given proper attention and comfort. The withdrawal effects of alcohol addiction are so grueling that the patients often run away from the rehabs and get back to their addiction. Those addicts, who stay in the rehabs to complete their treatment process, sometimes die of heart failure due to lack of proper care and comfort. Care is a very important factor for curing the alcohol addicted patients; the medical staffs of the alcohol rehab centers must provide immense care and mental support to the patients, so that they can fight against the withdrawal effects of the alcohol addiction, overcome it and return back to their normal lives successfully.

The only way to cure a drug addicted patient is to get him admitted and treated well in a drug treatment center.
