Throughout my lifetime I have known and been in contact with several self-proclaimed born-agains. These same individuals have also been through rehab for drugs, alcohol, and other addictions. Do you think that religion is their new addiction? They seem to be so overboard with trying to force their new found beliefs down your throat. I find it too preachy and rude.
Both my sisters started doing drugs and drinking in middle school. They are now in their mid-20′s and both have gone to rehab for drug and alcohol addictions. I thought we were finally past this dark cloud but I called my sister one night and they were both stoned out of their minds. They say weed is no big deal compared to the things they used to do and I’m overreacting. We haven’t spoken since which was over a year ago. I kind of think that they should be the ones to reach out to me but they haven’t. Was I overreacting?
One of family members has an alcohol problem and he needs help getting over his addiction. WE have tried talking to him but he only talks. What can i do to help him overcome his addiction? We are willing to send him to rehab as well.

My mom is really sick and needs some help! She has already been to rehab 3 times with her alcohol addiction, but I doubt she will agree to go again by choice. The last time we got her to go was about a year ago where my dad threaten to leave her which ended with the cops coming. She went but seem traumatized by the experience after the third time. (I don’t know if she was being dramatic or not) The second time she only went for 2 weeks and that didn’t do anything which was about 2 years ago. And 3 years ago my mom went the 1st time to rehab and I visited her and it was a fairly friendly program, but I don’t think she actually understood it and was just trying to get it over and done with. She been struggling with this addiction since I could remember and don’t know if rehab would be the best step for her after 3 failed attempts. What would make this time any different because I feel like my whole family is wasting time and money with it sometimes. It is unbelievably stressful and frustrating, but at this rate she is going to die with her drinking or getting into a car accident, and I can’t just sit around and watch that happen to her! Meeting and therapy are not cutting it either…and usually she skips out on the meetings. She is struggling and hitting rock bottom, and i don’t want to be put through anymore pain or see my mom like this. I am stuck and I need some advice because it seems like everyone, but me has completely given up. :[
btw I’m a young teen so I can’t move out or anything for like 6 or 7 years..
We did family counseling for it before and it failed horribly, medications she would just pretend to take it, breathalyzer in the car didn’t work, and a lot of other things.
Cigarettes and alcohol are legal but expensive
However with lung cancer and DUI’s, alcohol addiction and rehab plus abusive alcoholics that waste a lot of money.
I meant Cost
Its morning, didn’t really read through it that well.
Louis we spend more trying to treat smoking addiction. I mean the cigarette ban thing was not free. The lung cancer. Public service annouments. The tar. Insurance rates go up(for all of us).
Alcohol poisoning, according to many teen treatment centers is the potentially fatal repercussion of drinking copious amount of liquor in a short span of time. Due to drinking excess alcohol, our body’s functions are considerably slowed down and there is a lapse in the heart-rate, breathing etc which unfortunately causes choking, breathlessness, suffocated feeling, low blood pressure and even death. Teenagers, who are in their early to mid-teens, are vulnerable to alcohol poisoning more so compared to adults according to a reputed teen treatment center.
The treatment process is such that the person is taken to the hospital quickly so that his or her condition can be monitored closely. Fluids and oxygen are given and a lot of proactive measures are taken to make sure that the person does not choke or suffer from breathing problems or chest pain. There are some very effective medications that are used in treating alcoholism and alcohol poisoning which have proved to be fruitful
