Do we all pretty much agree on these facts about marijuana?

1. Death from Cannabis overdose is virtually unheard of. (And death from alcohol poisoning is a daily occurrence in the United States.)

2. Marijuana has never been shown to be addictive. (And alcohol addiction is one of the worst problems in the United States.)

3. Marijuana usually doesn’t make people mean. (And we have lots of mean drunks.)

4. Marijuana does impair the ability to drive. (And alcohol does this at least three times as bad)

5. Canada and other countries are growing hemp, which is an activity band in the United States making lots of money selling hemp to the US.

6. It was originally banned not because it was dangerous but because of lobbying from the paper industry.

7. The bans have lasted not because it is dangerous, but because the substance is taboo.

8. Many people who want to get a buzz turn to alcohol, despite it’s dangers, because it is legal and marijuana is not.

9. Policing marijuana is very expensive.

Agree with all except 2. I’m Dutch living in Belgium so not some anti marijuana propagandist. I support decriminalization we have over here and all the other points including alcohol addiction is much worse BUT some people can get addicted to marijuana Dutch studies show especially in a sustained decriminalized region like a substantial part of Europe. The THC levels in Dutch weed and hasjs are much higher than on the black market and lead in some groups to serious problems and even addiction
