Does your body become addicted to alcohol if used every day like other drugs such as nicotine and opiates?

What would be the symptoms of alcohol addiction if so?
For the ones that answered in a smart-ass way, I was legitamately wondering if the addiction was mental or physical. Not all of us know it all.

Yes, my niece died at the age of 21 from alcoholism. She started drinking when she was 11 and just couldn’t stop. She left 2 kids behind – it’s so sad.

YES! Alcohol is very addictive. If you feel, you need alcohol just to be able to function normally, to be able to think straight or the like, then you need help, now!
