mood swings, past alcohol and drug addiction?

Im a 21 yo guy who has been sober from alcohol and marijuana for almost 60 days besides relapsing on marijuana twice. I did drink daily from 17 -18 but sometime after turning 19 I drank in binges usually 3 -5 times a week, the pot was aalways daily but i was doing both for about 5 years. I seem to get mood swings frequently and some other mental health symptoms like depression and anxiety. Is this part of recovering? Do i need to give it more time? Im not getting any outside help. should i? and like wat kind of help?

well first congrats on being sober, keep it up.
my boyfriend is in a similar situation, was on all kindas drugs, coke, weed, ***** a time or two, so many pills the lining in his stomach is completely gone, drinking. but now is sober. and has the same problem anxiety attacks, some depression, confusion, bad mood swings, so i think it is a part of recovering. i would seek some outside help, i think you should really try counseling, he goes and it helps. they also have great support groups and mentor programs, google it in your county or zip code. good luck.

Alcohol addiction can harm your health. Many everyday people have lost jobs, family, friends, and loved ones because they could not break thier alcohol habits. I recommend you find some help. Here is a site that has addiction information and a list of addiction treatment clinics so you can help.
