No. These are not facts. Why a certain branch of people is trying to get us addicted to another harmful substance when we are finally getting people to realize the harmful effects of tobacco is beyond my understanding.

I agree with most of them “facts” except :
about memory loss..I believe it does cause memory loss.
Its only safer than tobacco if not mixed with tobacco.
I think it may reduce brain cells very slightly.Maybe, but I don’t think this can be proven.

I smoke cannabis with little or no side effects but Im not American..

Do not be fooled by such “facts”…
It has been prove over and over and over that cannabis is a prime cause of mental and physical illness.
    Also…impotence.

    Hmmm…

    - it’s known to be addictive
    - no idea about dosage but, like alcohol, I would assume there is a toxic dosage
    - you’re inhaling burning material – how safe is that? Aside from the crap you’re putting into your lungs, you’re also inhaling neurotoinhibitors, which ***** up the normal chemical signals of the brain.
    - it certainly does kill brain cells. prolonged use leads to behavioural “issues”, shortened attention spans, cognative problems.
    - prolonged usage will cause permanent debilitation
    - a driver under the influence of cannabis is more profoundly affected than a driver under the influence of alcohol.

having said that, of course, i’m at my computer sipping on a bourbon on the rocks, so don’t listen to me :)

Just for once I am unconcerned about the facts you have stated. The fact is that alcohol is damaging as well but is legal. And we know the consequences of alcohol prohibition.

All drugs must be made legal so the criminals can be removed the manufacture and distribution of drugs. Once that is done then we can much more effectively deal with the harmful affects.

I recently did a paper on this for uni.

    what I found-
    Marijuana is not physically addictive
It would be incredibly difficult to overdose on- so difficult that no cases have been reported
It is not as bad for you as tobacco or alcohol
It does damage receptors in the brain
The receptors it does damage are those related to memory- However, studies have shown that after use is discontinued, they do repair. And in long-term users, new pathways for memory are constructed.
It does not irreparably impair cognitive function- as above.
Hundreds of thousands of people worldwide smoke cannabis on a regular basis with little side effects.

If smoked, it will damage your lungs- although not as much as tobacco.

And to those that may doubt- I do have a full list of references.

It is more dangerous than both regular smoking and alcohol. It is much easier to get into traffic accidents for one thing.

Another bad thing is that the smoke makes your lungs 3 times worse than regular cigarettes.

These facts were found out by a doctor who did an extensive research on it. He wrote a big book about it. We had the book in our house and my son read it and returned it to his counselor.

Read about the effects of THC.
    And get wiser.
It can be used as medicine for the needy patients.

    Its regular use is harmful.

    BTW Buddha forbids all intoxicants.

Breaking the law does not make “Thousands of successful Americans”. What you are promoting has killed scores of people. Killed by thugs on drugs. It has destroyed many lives when a person goes to prison for half their live or more. Kids get into gangs with no concern for anyone and push the drug in schools and on street corners. People sneek it across the boarders from Mexico. The kind of people who will use torture and murder to stay in business. So mark me as against having the drug while it is against state and federal law.

Marijuana, compared to Alchohol is a very safe, reasonable and healthy drug.

When I was in High School, I had a friend who was only smoking Marijuana. He said all the things you mentioned but never forced me to smoke it and I never did. He went to university and dropped out after one semester because he needed something stronger. He became a janitor. He finished on the street, used a friend’s needle and got aids. He died when he was 39.

Do whatever you want but some stories don’t have the happy ending anticipated. By the way, he was a wonderful musician, I could listen to him for hours. I saw him a year after our graduation and he told me to never, ever start smoking pot because it had been his loss.

I don’t know the answer to the list.

I do know it happens sometimes to wind up with a bad batch that’s been contaminated that is dangerous.

I know studies show kids who smoke are the ones who gateway to heavier drugs.

I know the potheads I’ve known weren’t very impressive even sober. They didn’t fully grasp living in this world & sounded well, dumb, because of it. I bet they had no idea.

(It really is different to use something medicinally.)

It is also an excellent muscle relaxant and aids in sleeping, reduces nausea and stimulating appetite. Useful for people with chronic pain (like myself) or cancer patients.

Those are just a few more of the benefits of weed. But the big pharmaceutical companies don’t want you to know any of that.
